Rex I. Frieze holds a Bachelors degree in Finance and a Masters degree in Business/Accounting. He passed the Certified Public Accountant examination after completing his formal education. Rex's secular work experience consists of six years with an international CPA firm, and two years as Corporate Controller for a conglomerate of oil companies. While in the oil business, he felt God's call to surrender his life, business and financial skills and professional abilities to full-time Christian service. Stating his spiritual gift to be administration, he is dedicated and spiritually committed to the Lord, the Church, God's people and the stewardship of God's money and all His resources.
Rex served as Associate Pastor of Administration at San Jacinto Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas for several years before he accepted the call as Assistant Pastor/Administration (Chief Business and Financial Officer) of First Baptist Church of Orlando, Florida. While serving in this capacity, he was ordained to the gospel ministry. Rex served at First Baptist/Orlando for over five years and left to develop Frieze Consulting, a Church Management Consulting firm. His consulting practice has assisted thousands of churches from many denominations and various non-denominational ministries.
Rex has spoken at local, regional and national conferences in the areas of church leadership, management and administration, risk assessment, minister's taxation, personal financial planning and biblical principles of management and finances. He has led seminars and workshops for the National Association of Church Business Administration, Christian Leadership Alliance, Christian Ministry Resources, Crown Financial Ministries, Pastors' Conferences, denominational offices, seminars, local churches and Christian businesses. He has also conducted numerous specially designated seminars and continued professional education workshops through his consulting ministry. He is the author of the FRIEZE RESOURCE LIBRARY, a collection of management and administrative resources that assists church leaders in organizing and operating God's house in a more "decent and orderly" manner. Churches from all over the world are using these resources.
Rex is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Society of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of Church Business Administration and miscellaneous other Christian organizations.
Having served as an Assistant Pastor for numerous years in the local church, practiced in the business world as a Certified Public Accountant and a Corporate Controller, and independently consulting with numerous ministries, Rex is well aware of the unique pressures and challenges which are facing elders, pastors, staff and lay leaders in the areas of church leadership, management and administration. Rex has deep convictions and burdens for the proper development of organizational structures, operational systems and risk reduction programs for the local church. Biblical support and application are the core components of his consulting ministry.
